Pre-school has now opened a Breakfast Club and also an After School Club for all children aged between 3-11 years old. Please contact us for further details.  We are taking names for September.

Out topic this half term has been wildlife and we have been looking at wildlife we see around the pre-school and several children visited Hanningfield Reservoir with their parents for a very successful day.
We had a very successful  Easter bonnet competition and  Easter egg hunt at the end of last term.

We now have our new permanent outside area which has also been extended.  Children and staff alike are so pleased with it and we love using it every day.  We are also pleased to announce that our canopy is now installed.  We obtained two grants, one from Essex Early Years for £5200 and another from Essex Community Initiative Fund for £13000. We have been supported by the Hanna’s Field Village Hall Committee, Parish Council, the City Councillors and the Children’s Centre, and combined with money raised at pre-school we now have a wet pour safety surface play area surrounded by a metal fence. Some photos of the work as it progressed can be seen by going to the page called “Outside Area”.

Schools and early years providers have to follow a structure of learning, development and care for children from birth to five years old. This is called the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and it enables your child to learn through a range of activities. The framework has been revised to make is clearer and easier to use with more focus on the things that matter most.  This new framework also has a greater emphasis on your role in helping your child develop.
